The deer are running rampant in my beds. I put the chives and scallions just on the stuff they are ravaging. But tomorrow I will cut up more and put all through my beds. Their hooves are causing as much damage as their teeth!
I will be thrilled if it works long term. I will have to figure out how often I need to refresh the beds. Its nice to have a non-chemical solution to a gardening problem.

Well this patch of semps looked really bad today. Sitting in mucky wet soil. Then I moved a few and found their main root was rotting. So I pulled up the whole lot and put them in a temporary home until late Spring when I can find a better spot for them with soil ammended to their liking.
I read somewhere on one of these threads, Twit said that these guys don't mind being transplanted, especially if their leaves are beginning to brown and rot, and I've noticed that with mine, if they're not looking so great, they totally respond to being lifted and leaves gently removed, and replaced! Yours look good Jennifer!
