I've been busy collecting White Spruce cones over past couple weeks and plan on following these steps for stratification and then planting these: https://digitalcommons.unl.edu...

How many trees (assuming 50% germination of extracted seeds from cones) do you think i could get to germinate next Spring from this box of cones?

If they didn't drop their seeds already (they can open and close according to weather), you will probably get between 5 and 30 good seeds from each cone. I think you have enough. :nodding:

When you open the cones and find the "seeds", you will get three basic kinds:
-- wings with no actual seed attached (not usable)
-- wings with a seed attached, but the seed is undeveloped or hollow (not usable)
-- wings with a seed attached, and the seed is fat and solid. These are the ones you want.
