Biologically every scape is formed by a new growing point and that means every scape is produced by a new fan of leaves - when the plant is growing continuously the two fans cannot be separated by eye.

So, is it "rebloom" - since every scape is produced by a new growing point no matter what, my answer is sure. Of course, I would also have to consider that clumps can also "rebloom" from completely new increase fans. That is, rebloom is never from the same fan biologically so "rebloom" is simply two or more separate periods of flowering for a cultivar. It probably does not even need to be the same clump as long as it is the same cultivar.

Love this conversation about rebloom! I have noticed more rebloom this year than ever before and the weather in southern Indiana has been a lot like what Elena described. Lots of rain early in the season, then a very dry period, and now a lot of rain in the past two weeks. I have been fertilizing the daylilies the last two years, so the combination is why I have more rebloom.

I consider it rebloom any time a daylily puts up a scape that is several weeks behind the original clump bloom.

The AHS dictionary has this very short definition listed:
Reblooming, Recurrent, Remontant: Having more than one cycle of flowering per year.

Thanks everyone! I'll consider it rebloom!

I'm glad this year I've been saving pollen. By the time it blooms none of my other doubles will be blooming.

It's getting warmer and weirder, y'all! Warm enough for rebloom but cold enough to kill rust is what we want! Vickie and Elena, your increased rebloom sounds interesting. Wetter, warmer, wwww... with nutrition, and I wonder what other details and aspects? Timing, intensity...?

I'm still thinking about that idea that all daylilies have the capacity for rebloom. There are certain daylilies not listed as recurrent that pretty much never rebloom here- not even a little bit. Have any of these varieties rebloomed for you folks? And, if so, how much?

Only a few on that list that I grow:
Red Volunteer
Primal Scream
Ruby Spider
Off hand I would say all those rebloom here. But, being I am not that observant a person, I will have to look through my photos and notes and see if I can come up with something positive and not a guess.
I remember Red Volunteer from early this year, it was spectacular. I remember Primal Scream was super slow in getting established but this year was its best year ever with the biggest blooms so far. Ruby Spider always puts on a show with her big blooms. So let me look for rebloom info on those three.

So after a quick search through the photos, it was easy to see a pattern, first bloom in late April or Early May, then photos appearing again on all of them in July. I was not consistent in my photo taking but I did find at least one year fairly recently showing that all three definitely rebloom here. Some years the clumps had been dug for plant sales, so they don't all show rebloom photos every year, plus I just don't seem to be much good at keeping track once peak bloom hits, I just get overwhelmed . But yes, they all rebloom here.

My Red Volunteer has not rebloomed, Larry. In fact it didn't do much at all this year--a few blooms, but not many. I was thinking of replacing it. But it may need to be moved. I got it in spring 2020, so maybe I will give it another year. Then I will move it or replace it.

Looking at the plant it has not formed much of a clump yet. I would give it more time for sure, it is a great plant.

I just saw a rebloom scape on Orange Velvet tonight. First time on OV in the 6 years I've had it.

Of the cultivars you mentioned Justine, I have four and none of them have rebloomed for me.
