We were down at our rural cabin property trying to get some fencing and gate work down this past week. While down there last month, we saw our resident white-tail doe with her very young fawn. But one morning this past week, at almost 9am (kind of late for the deer to be wandering outside the wooded areas), we spotted what at first looked like a couplel coyotes. But on closer look with binoculars it was a doe (left of tree) with TWO young ones following her every movement. One was perhaps a Spring 2020 fawn as it was on the large side, and a younger one that was likely born late this past Spring or early summer, as it was clearly MUCH smaller that the other young one. It was also still reddish brown with faint white fawn spotting and looked like it was stilll suckling.

I also spotted a gray fox walk across the barnyard one morning. And we once again were paid a visit by an elusive armadillo crossing the yard at 6am one morning. He has dug tunnels under the fence and other places but we can't seem to trap him to try to relocate. Two fairly young raccoons were in hot pursuit, until all 3 ran into the shadows where the yard lights don't shine. Quite an exciting week this trip. Smiling
