This summer, after three attempts to discourage the queen hornet from making her nest next to our front door, I finally gave up and allowed her to make it. The hornets went about their daily tasks all summer long, and neither my husband nor I were bothered by them. The weather has begun to cool down, and I have not noticed any insects coming or going for a while. I think this nest is a work of art.
