As a rule, sempervivums are tough little plants that can put up with a lot of abuse before they’re overwhelmed. Not many plants are as resilient as these guys, yet even they face some dangers.

Chris, I love the paper clip idea. I just spent part of this afternoon replanting offsets that I planted late last fall and some the first part of Feb. All this sun seems to have the worms out in force. Sad
I will be trying the paper clip method.

I've been concerned for a few weeks that my Semps might be fighting a fungal infection (and loosing) but hoped the damage was due to a heavy hailstorm not long before the bruising and marks first appeared. A visit to another collector 40 miles away eased my concern as he had experienced the same problem.

I've grown Killer from a chick and Black Price was picked up from Steve Furness at the weekend.

Hi Chris, and welcome to the Sempervivum Forum. So glad you found your way to us.
That certainly does look like hail damage. I see the new leaves are working hard to replace the unsightly hail damaged one. Hurray! Soon they will be beautiful again.
It looks like you have quite a collection in the background of your photo.
