Up front, this is not MY idea. But I think it's one of the cleverest ways to store/label seeds I've seen to date. After filling the CD slots with packets of seeds or actual harvested seeds, you can just write on the sleeves with a permanent marker what they are. You could also note when/where planted.

Just flow through the arrows to see the entire "book" this person shared today on Reddit. So clever! I assume you can buy these CD storage containers/booklets anywhere CD's and sound accessories are sold.

Peggy, that is a cool idea! And a great idea about what to do with all those CD cases we no longer need because CDs are becoming obsolete!

I would like to post a reminder here that this forum is specifically for the original ideas of NGA members. Please see this for details:

Oh, sorry about that. My bad. Won't happen again. Please just delete it.

Oh, Peggy, you're so sweet! It is a good idea, maybe someone can point to a thread where people can post links to other people's great ideas?

I can't delete it, but you may be able to since you were the original poster. Treemail me if you find another thread for things like this and I'll point people to it! Or maybe you could even start one yourself if there isn't one already? Group hug and Lovey dubby

A good idea is a good idea, regardless of its origin. I'll certainly remember to abide by the rules of originality in the future when posting on this site, but because I have been trying to devise a good way to store my seeds, Peggy's link was timely and apt for me Thumbs up

It is, right? There should be a special thread or forum for linking to great ideas and helpful articles!

Bravo! That's great idea, I always get confuse about seeds date. I do not maintain seed book though but I use reminder factor on my cellphone so I get notification about what seeds I was planning to plant in respective month. Crossing Fingers!

That IS a good idea - I'm glad to no longer have to deal with piles of cds/dvds because not a single one of the myriad 'storage' methods/designs ever was worth a grain of salt for cds! - none of them! I'm 100% certain I can find any variety of cd cases in any colo(u)r at the local junkshop for <$1 too...

FYI, a lot of people still collect CDs. Me included. Send those unwanted cases to me because my CD collection grows quite frequently. Just because digital hoopla is forcing discs to become 'obsolete' doesn't make them useless.
Sorry if that's off-topic but I get touchy in that area. I may start a thread about discs...

I store my tomato seeds in plastic baggies in a glass jar. The rest of my seeds remain in their original paper packets in a Ziploc bag. This year I finally stored my winter crop seeds in the freezer and wrote a list to help me remember what's in there. Hilarious! I want to put my tomato seeds in the freezer but I'll have to buy some paper or wax bags for that job; the bags I'm using now weren't designed for cold storage.
Ban the GMO tomato!
