@kywheeker,

I have claimed some great things as well. There are many more than interest me, maybe I've grown them before and no longer have seeds. These are the ones that push me over the edge!

Then, there are the plants that I have shared seeds with people and lost myself so I'm dibbng a pack back from them. 😁

The China clematis is the first one that comes to mind. I bought the plant late in the season. I waited to collect seeds from it so it could use its energy into producing seed and not roots. I think I planted it too late and it died! @mrsbinwy grew those seeds and now I'm going to get it back...lol

There are also seeds that I have offered from say 2020 and I dipped on a pack of someone else's from 2021. I do this because I don't plan on growing it next year but would like to the following..

I love when people actually grow the seeds that you share and offer them the next year or the year after should it be a perennial

@janinilulu, I grew the trailing silene that you shared last year but I was not able to get seeds from it. I'm going to guess you didn't either because I didn't see them posted. I did not get the white to sprout and the purple I didn't get a photo.

They are still over 1600 packs of seeds out there for the taking.

I want to offer if anyone missed an item on my list and would like me to add additional packs please let me know. Most of my items I have more that I can add another pack. I am feeling so blessed with the items I have been able to dib on that I want to pay it forward.
I am doing the flowers for my grandson's wedding in the summer and gathering seeds for that. I was a perennial girl up until last year when I started adding annuals so I am new to working with them. If anyone has suggestions on things that would do well for the wedding please give me a heads up. I am in zone 5b/6a so we have a short growing season. But I do start plants indoors that help.
I just started seed collecting last year so I too feel limited in what I am offering. I was worried I wouldn't be able to meet the minimum. So many are things that I winter sowed from last years trades. I was surprised that this method gave me first year blooms on perennials that usually take 2 years.
@ishareflowers this has been a great swap.

That darn Silene didn't make a single seed pod and I had a few plants each of 3 colors. The pink was my favorite...very vibrant. I'll grow that one again.

One of my favorite plants in this year's garden from last year's swap (from @ishareflowers) was the 'Frosted Explosion' Panicum elegans. It was gorgeous all season, very appealing.

@janinilulu, I still have half a pack of that myself. I probably would have bid on it if I didn't. Maybe I'll get to it next year...lol

I kept checking the silene and nothing. I did one in a tall standing black pot. I did a couple in-ground but my cosmos and gaillardia smothered it out. I did have one that was more of a purple tone in the ground in the garden but it did not make seats either.

I agree Lisa's seed swaps are always so much fun!! Hurray!

Me too, Lisa, dibbed some things I haven't grown in awhile and found a few things I've lost along the way. I've already dibbed a nice selection of great seeds from everyone! Although... as of now, this is the first time I can remember dibbing more seeds than I've given away. I really like giving too!! But I'm not surprised because there are so many beautiful flowers and great seeds to be had! Probably don't need much more to keep me busy with a fabulous garden next year! But I'm sure to find some more nice things that I can't resist!!

What colors are you goin to be utilizing for your grandsons wedding? I may have a few things I can throw in that are good for cutting.

Thank you @wildflowers but it is the participants that make it a great swap.

My swaps are always smaller than other ones hosted on here I don't know if that's because I have more rules or maybe people just don't like me. Rolling on the floor laughing

It's okay, I prefer a smaller swap with 25/30 players.

Either way, I could not host a swap like this without the participants buying, collecting and sharing their seeds generously.

I will likely do a swap very similar to this one next season. This is fair warning for everyone to collect your fresh seeds for offering next year. Hilarious!

I loved this swap. I'm pretty much done dibbing though since I already have way too many seeds! I haven't had the chance to garden much the last 2-3 years so I'm hoping I'm able to plant and grow a good variety of seeds next year. I'm awful at collecting seeds though (except daylilies). I collect them and then forget to label the container. Or I'll label them but then put them someplace where I can't find them. I know I collected two different dianthus seeds this year but I can't find either one. This always happens to me which is why I end up buying seeds!

I've been in some huge swaps over the years, but this one might have the most diverse array of types in memory. Kudos to Lisa, and all of the contributors, and to Karen for the bonus seeds.

I thought I was through dibbing, but had another look. I retracted my vow of abstinence. I tip my hat to you.

Oh, I'm always looking, even though dibbing on more than one seed (and I've certainly done that! Whistling ) is already more than I need.

I have passed by some I would LOVE to have, but I do research zone requirements, and zone 9 is too hot for some of these beauties, so it only makes sense that I leave them for those who can grow them. Pointing at you, zone 8s, for those primulas and alstroemerias!

As usual, having way too much fun with this, and I have a couple of acres' worth from this swap alone, I think. (Never mind that I am on a semi-urban lot Green Grin! )

I agree with all of your sentiments! This has been a really fun swap and there has been so much diversity. Last year was my first year back at my garden after a hiatus due to injury. Looking forward to being able to offer more in the future as I get reestablished. Smiling

Please let me know if you missed anything of mine. I may have more tucked away somewhere.

I love this swap and was surprised at how many I was able to self collect vs buying them.

Not having my own stable housing for the last few decades really puts a crimp on sticking around until the seeds are ripe!

With over 1600 packets left to claim, and all of us not necessarily 'needing' any more seeds, there are plenty of good ones out there. I wonder if we could easily parlay the left overs into a newbie swap where they don't even need to list any?

@rockpile, the system doesn't allow anyone with a zero quantity of seeds to dib. This would be easy enough to fix by having them put in a mock pack of seeds:

I'll be taking what doesn't sell in this swap and putting it into one of the swaps later this season. I'll add in some new varieties for people that played in this swap so I have offerings for all. If I still have leftovers I offer on Facebook.

I don't plan on hosting any swaps again until next season. If you wanted to host you could make a post and see how many people were interested.

The other option if you're looking to get rid of your seeds is to make a post in the seeds forum looking for a newbie. They could send you postage or you could just send them to them whatever you chose.

I barely held it together for this swap because of a flurry of events, wanted to do the swap @greenthumb99 hosted but couldn't get time, @rockpile. I still have a big box of collected seeds I never got around to listing for this swap, but another swap right now is out for me. Plus, the logistics would make that as labor intensive as it would be if you started from scratch, because it would be starting from scratch.

I'm almost through getting bluespiral's swap seeds bagged up and I found that a few selections that she had pre-packed had more than the 1 or 2 she listed. If you requested one of those and were too late, I'll place one in your baggie. This would only affect 1 or two people, I believe. I am not going to have time to post more, so my plan is to take what is left and randomly distribute them among the baggies. I expect that would mean 2 or three random packs per baggie, so don't @ me if something strange shows up. Rolling on the floor laughing If you can't use them you can put them in another swap that allows traded seeds.

I too, feel like mountainlakecorner and I am extremely grateful and feel very blessed to be part of this swap. I see that there were seeds of mine that were wish listed twice. That means someone may have lost out. If you are not joining another swap this winter or coming spring, please contact me also and if I have enough, I'll pack some up for you too.

Also, thank you Alana for all the extra effort & time you spent to share Karen's seeds with all of us. You will be getting something special from me too

Marnie, that's sweet, but not necessary. I have loved sharing her seeds with everyone. I can't wait to see some of them being grown out and plopped in gardens and planters and new seeds being collected from them.
