Well on the Volcano Mauna Loa, there is some snow on a regular basis.

Mauna Kea is another volcanic peak that regularly gets snow during the winter. Both sit at 13,000 feet plus at the summit.

We were on the big island in late May one year and there was still a good bit of snow on Mauna Kea that could be seen from the plane.

It never gets too cold near the beaches in Hawaii. We used to go to Maui every winter when our kids were small, and we did have one day where it was "so cold" to the natives - down in the low 70's. The sea water keeps it warm.

Mauna Kea is a high enough peak that it gets snow most winters. Just not usually quite this much in one fall.

We stayed in Volcano Village near Kilauea and I was stunned to find a wood stove in our room but it routinely gets down to the 40's at night and we did use it to keep warm. It also rains 400" a year there and that moist lushness can feel pretty cool after dark. Absolute heaven during the day though.
