Rattlesnake Master (Eryngium yuccifolium) produces fuzzy-looking spherical flower heads.

Native plant. The story goes that a tea from its roots cures snakebites (but I'm not sure how effective it is!). This one was growing in an island in a parking lot.

You did a great job capturing the intricate details of these spherical blooms. I see them in the wild occasionally, but more often in local gardens.
