I'm thinking Sonia too. Or Impatient.

Smell? Thorns?

I love mislabeled roses.. just got another "Medallion" that looks strikingly familiar to my Sterling Silvers. LOL!

Where did you get the rose? If at Home Depot (where I get lots & lots of roses!), I've found that this year has been the WORST as far as mistagged roses. They're coming from Armstrong Roses and the Armstrong label is about 3" down inside the dirt. The HD distributor is just putting whatever tag they have onto the roses and I've gotten quite a few of Sterling Silvers that were not labeled as such, but Medallion, Mr. Lincoln, Heirloom, etc. If you got this rose from HD, take it out of the bucket & shake some of the planting dirt off of it. Below the dirt level right above the rootball should be another tag. THAT one should be the right tag. Smiling

If it isn't patented, it probably won't have a tag.

It looks a lot like the buds on Cary Grant.

It was from a Big Lots body bag last year, no secondary tag. I knew the risk buying roses there, but it was February after a LONG winter, and they were only $1.50. I was overcome by plant lust!

It's not overly thorny, and I can't detect any fragrance. I'd attribute the lack of smell to allergies, but I can sure smell my Zepherine Drouhin(heavenly!), so my sniffer isn't entirely broken.

Thanks for the leads. I'll look up both Sonia and Cary Grant to see what fits. At first I was disappointed that it wasn't Oklahoma, but I love a good mystery and this rose is definitely growing on me.

Is it a coral orange color as your photo shows or more pink?

Picture colors are frustrating, aren't they? It's a blend of coral and pink, leaning towards the coral side. I looked up both Sonia and Cary Grant. CG is definitely more reddish than this one. I'm thinking Sonia is the right answer. It fits nicely with the description and photos I found of Sonia.

I have amused the neighbors today by going out multiple times and sniffing the same rose repeatedly. Hilarious!

LOL! At least you're getting rose smells & not something else! Last year, my single Stainless Steel finally graced me with a blossom (bad bad year, cold & wet) so I eagerly dipped down to take a sniff... and got a nose-full of earwig scent! YUCK! They STINK! I hate earwigs!!!
