Thread OP

So I was down in Texas visiting my family last week and was asked what is going on with this tree. I haven't lived in the south for 20 years, and while this looks familiar, I can't for the life of me figure this out. Thoughts?

You mean the ferns? They will green up and unfurl when it rains. Otherwise, they brown and curl and generally look dead.
I have found that coffee, tea, and rose can all agree on one thing... water everyday.

Oh! I've seen those around here! My Dad has a friend who has them growing on one of his trees. I was slightly jealous. Sad

Thank you, stone! I didn't know what those ferns were called.

There are several that are so similar looking.
