We were expecting thunderstorms last night but all we got was clouds and wind.
50% chance for storms again today.
I was going to fertilize the garden but the ground is pretty wet (for once Glare ) and I don't want another round of rain to just wash everything off so I'll wait. There's plenty more to be done.

We hit 80 yesterday but will be cooling off a bunch this weekend with wind and a tiny chance of rain late Sunday.

Jill, are those Ice Follies Daffodils? I love those, mine are peeking their foliage. I love your Hellebores too!

Pouring rain today. Temps will be climbing from 48 to 55, then staying there. So glad we put everything on the garden yesterday, now it will soak in. Here's a Siberian squill from yesterday

Probably Ice Follies. They were here when we bought the house and I transplanted them back into my woodland garden at the top of the hill. They are so cheerful before foliage fills in back there.

Yes, thank you, Jill and Zoia, for the pretty blooms. My daffodils are done. I only get decent blooms from one variety, Carlton.

I keep forgetting to take a picture of my Confetti Cake hellebore, so here is an old one:

I need some hellebores...they're one thing I have never planted. Good excuse for a trip to the local plant nursery when they open.

Not very nice today. Showers this morning then gray and damp the rest of the day. DH worked 11 1/2 hours today fixing muddy roads. Some are completely impassable....he's headed in early tomorrow morning too, gonna be a long week. You know it's bad when dispatch for the surrounding towns told everyone on the radio that AAA is not pulling anymore cars from the mud, folks will have to find their own way out. Mud season can be expensive. Whistling

Tomorrow is the first day of Spring! I'll switch the Porch Swing and Weather threads in the morning.

39° F this morning, after all night downpours, that tapered off the rain showers this morning, sprinkles by mid-day... and a couple hours of sunshine this afternoon. But then, about 4-ish this afternoon, the thunderstorms moved in.

The boomers raised the roof, the winds came through sideways, and then the hail started bouncing. At least it was tiny...

We had several lightning strikes less than a mile from us, before the storm blew past. - More showers overnight, and another thunderstorm on the radar that looks like it will pass directly overhead in about an hour. Must be spring.

On the other hand, my silly chocolate Siamese kitten keeps me entertained (she is not a year old yet) ... her new favourite spot...

She's beautiful! Siamese have so much personality.!
Scary weather though, stay safe.

Cloudy and blustery all day but nothing wet has fallen.

More showers moved through last night some of them with roof pounding rain. Almost 1/2" in the rain gauge....that won't help the mud any.
