That's great Rita! It will be fun having you here.I remember last year you bought an awful lot of bulbs! Whistling
I love the Crocus Tulips. I found it in the data base too!
Species Tulip (Tulipa humilis var. violacea 'Black Base')

Thumbs up JoAnn, great album, I love the Helleborus! Mine did not bloom but maybe next year. I at least get to look at every body else's and drool. Drooling

Thumbs up Thanks Debra, just let me know if you run across it. If it is a daff I might be able to find it in a catalogue.

AND during Storm Sandy! Ask her about the bulbs that almost ate the living room!
It’s okay to not know all the answers.

Yes, one bulb short of 5,000. no typo. I started in the second week of October and it took me all thru November until I finially finished. It was a lot of work.

Lots of daffs and tulips, crocus and some minor bulbs. I am already plotting what I will get for my bulb orders this fall. Going to be another wopping order.

Of course they were not all from the same place. I ordered from Brent&Beckies, Colorblends, Scheepers and their wholesale division of Van Engelen, Brecks, American Meadows, smeplace direct from Holland and one other place I can't remember the name of.

I had to sort all the bulbs before I could plant them. I already knew where each would go as it was all preplanned before ordering. So I did have stacks of bulbs all over the living room until they all got planted. That storm really got me behind, I was just not ready to deal with over a week of no power. I didn't much done immediatly thereafter. So I had to plant the entire month of November and I hated it as it was already getting cold. I was used to getting all my bulbs done by the end of November.

I forgot to say, yes those with the really orange noses are Maria daffs. I bought them from Brent & Beckies.

I thought so, you told me about them last year and I did remember but did not order any because I thought I had enough to plant. Maybe next year and I might get some perennial tulips too. Green Grin!

Thumb of 2013-04-11/Newyorkrita/373489

Some more daffs blooming today.

Here is a section of my front yard with these Belgium Block mini terreaces. I have daylilies at each end and daffodils in the middle.

I have a lot of terracing in my yard. So many different levels, I needed lots of terraces to make garden space. It required a lot of planning and then work but it ended up well.

Are they getting less sun or just a different variety. I had the small yellow ones bloomed after the other ones had fizzled out. Actually that was good timing, hope I can do as well next year, I just need more. Whistling

Both. Different variety in a shadier location. But I find the daffs are always mixed up the first year after planting. Next year they will sort themselves out.
