Thread OP

Hi all, so i'm a complete plant newbie and I got this calathea last week but I feel like she looks sad. She doesn't raise her leaves at night but i have another one who does. She just seems to be droopy all the time and has some slight crispy edges but i'm not sure if that's from the type of water? the soil is moist to touch. She also has some brown bits. Again i'm not sure if any of this is normal and i'm being paranoid or if there's something up. Just looking for a bit of advice or reassurance, Thank you in advance.

Me two.. very pretty . Lovey dubby

Outstanding specimen. Never let it get dried out. Mine are a but shabby this time of year too. It the season. They tend to loose a couple of older leaves but grow twice as many back starting in spring with good light warmth and a 1.2 strength when watering with give them a boost most potted plants crave by spring.

It looks great! Their leaves tend to open at various lengths during the day, so they can appear sad at times.

I have to water mine every 7-10 days and mist them every other day with water. I made the mistake of going 10 days and my calathea orbifilia began wilting this morning because it dried out. I watered it today, so I'm hoping it bounces back๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

Welcome! to the forum!
They really like lots of humidity so, if you can, get a humidifier. Misting and gravel with water don't work.
