New to the site, in southwest Gillespie County, epicenter of last February's ice event. Time I got everything back squirting where it should (and not squirting where it shouldn't
), it was past start-a-spring-garden season. Got in a few peppers and eggplants and then of all things a dang porcupine got in and lopped EVERYTHING off at the base. Harvested three squash off of a seed a bird must've pooped out by the chicken coop, but other than that 2021 was a wash.
2020 was so-so, it was our first year here fulltime, coming from the coast near Corpus where it's a 360 day growing season, and what brought me here was a DDG search on last frost dates. Liked the layout of that particular page so much I decided to join.
Enough. I'm starting a novel. Anyone ever feel the need, tell me to shut up. They write memes about my wife and me....ever see the "saying good bye in Texas" one?
