Thanks so much, Karen. Southern Beauty is one of my Simmons from NZ. It is an amazing plant. It is a very strong grower here in zone 7a. I really recommend it.

First year bloom on Sarah Bernhardt. I planted Mrs. FDR last month. All the pics of her on this thread have been ravishing. I hope I don't have to wait 10 years to see mine Liz!

When I've sorted out the fees for phytosanitary certificate Confused I shipped south many years ago but rules have changed; I do know it's much cheaper than when we have plants sent to Canada.

I always thought Raspberry Sundae is pinkish and yellowish... Here it looks like pure white.. Is it fading fast?

They started pinkish with some creamy flares, but the sun bleached them very quickly. Here are some earlier shots:

Another consideration is that bagged peonies open earlier than those in the field - from being kept indoors, mostly. But they are much slower or reluctant to open and they can get sun faded in very odd ways as a result.

Hiya, that's a great SB bloom photo! I love its sideview.

Valerie, what a great seedling! I am glad that it will be registered and be available for sale. Does the form stay consistent as the one in the photo that you posted?

Frank and Top, beautiful blooms made even better by nice photography. I particularly like how the yellow stamens peeking out of the full double blooms on the photos of General M. and Alexander Fleming. They look even better than the ones in the catalogs.

Karen - the extended guard petals of Arabian Knight are not always exhibited but the red streaks are and it's always a loose double. I like that it's only 26 inches tall so no support required and usually has 3 side buds Hurray!

Karl Rosenfield, it doesn't look like a double, but I purchased it as Karl Rosenfield, cheap peony from Holland Bulbs.

And here is why I am confused with the peony bloom types Confused Confused Confused One peony and two different classifications. Why Edulis Superba is not a bomb? Why does APS classify it as "double"? Could someone enlighten me, please? Confused
