Leslie, While Innocence is pure white indeed. Another peon with bright white petals in my garden is Minnie Shaylor but it has yellow center.

I only have a small number of peonies compared with many of you but I do love them. Here are my single peonies.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I get that soft light in the late afternoon. It is so complimentary to flowers. I have shot many of my iris photos in that light as well. I would like to say it is all by design but really it started as me running out to the gardens with my camera as soon as I got home from work. Hilarious!

Paeonia 'Rivida' 5/2021 Lactiflora- (John Harrell, 1985) (2-SL-R) Lactiflora Cultivar Peony, Mature size: 30", Faily tall, Violet Red, large single, sidebuds, early-mid, USDA Hardiness Zone 3-8, Michigan Bloom Month 5c-6a, In Garden Bed G3,1 for 16.6 YEARS (Adelman). Planted in 2004.

Paeonia 'Rivida' (John Harrell, 1985) is a single lactiflora cultivar of unknown parentage: Violet-red, single, lightly fragrant, midseason, 30" tall, looks pink, first bloomed in 1950s, red seed pods good for dried arrangements. This is the only peony listed in APS for Harrell.

In the APS registration, this peony is called semi-single:)

Paeonia 'Border Charm' 6/2021 Itoh- (Hollingsworth, 1984) (3-SL-Y) Itoh Intersectional Peony, Mature size: 24", Sulfer Yellow with red stigmas, USDA Hardiness Zone 3-8, Michigan Bloom Month 5-6, In Garden Bed G4 for 7.7 YEARS (Swenson). Planted in 2013.

Paeonia 'Border Charm' (Hollingsworth, 1984) is a 24" yellow Itoh Intersectional peony. Compact and dwarf. The flowers are a soft sulfur yellow single (or semi-single). Deep bluish green foliage. Petals tips are a lighter shade of yellow. Flower has large red flares and a prominent center of sheathed carpels and red stigma. Strong stems that arch form a wide, low bush. Support is not usually required. It is a cross of a peony lactiflora cultivar and tree peony 'Alice Harding.' American peony breeders started introducing Itoh Intersectionals in the early to mid 1980s. This was one of those early releases.

Very beautiful, Frank! It is one of the nicest picture that I have seen of Border Charm. The yellow shade is more intense in your flower than others that I have seen.

Does $30 seem reasonable for Neon? It's at A &D. I'm getting Immaculee and Tecumseh. Waffling on Neon and Lorelei (which is $52).

Neon used to be much cheaper in some places, I am not sure why it is so expensive.
