Does anyone have some suggestions about getting rid of fungus gnats in my houseplants? I've tried a vinegar trap, which didn't do much, and just bought some yellow sticky traps that seem to be helping, but not fully solving the problem. I should have realized it was a problem sooner, but life got busy and I got distracted. Any ideas, preferably organic? Thanks!

My housemate has lots of potted indoor plants, which sometimes get those irksome fungus gnats. She then puts a layer of coarse sand, an inch or more deep, on the surface, and sometimes in the tray below if the pot has side openings that the gnats get into. She sez it works good.

Thanks! I like the idea of sand on top. Given all my plants, that will be a lot of sand, but it's worth it. The gnats are so annoying!
