I love this one! I love Pineapple Sage and its flowers, but with this one, I get the beautiful leaf color too (same flowers and scent)!

Oh, I love this one! Someone gave me some cuttings, not sure if they are this one but a pineapple sage. I rooted and planted in the garden but I don't think they are going to come back. I did put one in a pot in the greenhouse and it looks like that one is coming back!

Arlene,

Thumbs up

Love Pineapple Sage! Lovey dubby I usually try to get this variety, because of the leaf color. Love the scent!

Got this one coming from Flowers By The Sea, along with a bunch of other Salvias. Hurray!

Can you imagine the excitement of the grower who first discovered this variant? I'd grow this plant or the regular green leaf elegans just for the leaf aroma / fragrance.

Arlene

Golden Leaved Pineapple Sage (Salvia elegans Rockin'® Golden Delicious)

3 feet tall and wide. I grow them in 20 inch or 24 inch containers, so they seem 'taller' to me.

Kermit, of Flowers By The Sea, has it as 36 inches by 48 inches wide. That's growing it into the grown. The plants wont's get as wide as that in containers

A lot of times, while I'm waiting for the flowers, I'll pick a leaf and/or rub one just to smell the scent! nodding Love the scent! If I can't get the yellow leaf variety, I'll get the green leaf one, but the yellow leaf, 'Golden Delicious' is so stunning with the red flowers blooming. Thumbs up

the yellow leaves are stunning. I'm sorry, I meant what size pots does Flowers by the Sea sell? 4" pots? Their prices seem very reasonable. I may have to get this one and take some cuttings to overwinter.

It took us several years to hone in on a pot size that:

Allowed a plant to grow large enough to be truly "garden ready", not wimpy;
Was small enough to be able to ship inexpensively (relatively);
That worked well with lightweight soil mixes - but - retained enough moisture to allow for no more than once a day watering;
Was a size that allowed us to grow a wide range of plants in.

The 3 1/2 inch deep perennial pots we use meet all of these criteria, and have worked for our customers and us now for over three years.

Last year there was a production problem and we were down to just a few. Now we maintain a LARGE inventory!

Back to work . . .
