I Saw a Sawfly

Sawflies are related to bees and wasps but do not sting. Larvae resemble caterpillars or slugs. This is a pine sawfly.

Such a cute bug with a nice green backdrop makes it a great banner. Thumbs up

I'm really not a fan of the defoliating larvae --but great shot and it does make a cute banner!

Thank You! to all of you! Certainly some stages of an insect's life can be more photogenic than others. Immature pine sawflies are grayish-green striped worms that feed in colonies on the pine needles. Wouldn't make it past the banner selection committee! Hilarious!
