You're probably referring to the Salvia Skyscraper Pink. I can never find the Billy Green Fuchsias locally, so I have to order online. Last summer they looked a bit straggly, I wasn't sure if they'd survive, let alone grow at all. So I planted the Salvia in the back of planter so that it would fill in if the Billy Greens didn't make it. And of course, they all survived because I was prepared. Murphy's Law.
I got the idea for this planter from
White Flower Farm and have been planting a version of it for the last 4 years. Although mine never stays as well behaved as their pic shows, by August I'm trimming back the coleus and begonias every week or so. I have it next to a birdbath, and it starts looking like a half-moon shape on one side to keep the birdbath clear.
Here's where I have to start trimming into it to clear the birdbath, and another view from side, it gets enormous. And it's one of the planters that lasts the longest through fall with blooms.
