Hello!
I just got this plant and what I want is a small to medium size, more bushy-like plant.

My idea was truly to cut the truck to 5 cm and just wait for it to shoot.
Maybe try to root the trunk, but I guess it is not a possibility(maybe the younger parts)
So estimate is that it will take me... 2 years to get to a pretty bush? ;D... oh my.

What do you think? I am totally a beginner, but I really want to advance together with plants. This one looks a bit sad

Coleus roots very very easily. I think best to cut and root some stems and try new plants.
Also as it tends to be an annual, age and die, I think this one isnt too vigorous now.
But you could save the base that the arms are cut off of, and see if it will sprout nice like you want.

As I understand I shouldn't cut the base. I will see how it develops and see if I can get arms to root.

Coleus are long-lived if the conditions stay within acceptable range. Yours looks decent for one at higher latitude during the short days. Which way does that window face?

How are things going with this Coleus?
