Just thinking I might lose it, I took cuttings of my Pink Princess before the freeze and brought them in the house. I thought the vine was history, it looked horrible and when I went to cut the dead looking part back this morning I noticed the part closest to the ground is already putting out new growth. I did not protect it in any way this year.

Some of those guys are very hardy. Just Buono is REALLY good about coming back from a bare vine

Winter of 2021 when we dipped to freezing I missed bringing in my P. Black Cardinal, wasn't hurt a bit. I've left many of my philos out this year dipping down to the low 40's for a few hours and haven't seen any problems. Burle Marx and Congo are tough ones, I just covered it when we dipped to 30's neither harmed, but boy howdy my pothos climbing my oaks were toasted big time, even the stems which usually are okay.

The A. perez's I had in trees and pots did not do well, they are alive but struggling. The ones in the ground never missed a beat, the cold never bothered them at all.

This begonia, depending on the season, is often almost black.

My Pink Princess cuttings, they are covered with pollen right now. Now that I know the plant can survive a hard freeze I won't bother with cuttings next year. Notice all the different colors.


This new leaf looks like it might be an interesting color when it matures.

I think that pink princess has changed over the years. Ones I have had in the past were a lot greener and much less dark than they are now

Mine was green and pink when I first got it many years ago. It reverted to the dark color over time. I was not thrilled with the color that is why I panted it outside and let it take care of itself.

Ooo very interesting and pretty 🤩. The veining has such strong structure , very unique around here that's for sure.

Amazing Pink Princess survived the below freezing, nice begonia too. That Anthurium really does have some bold veining.
This neoregelia NOID I got from a shop in Dunnellon, is much darker than the photo shows, the leaves look almost black, more burgundy in the center. No spots or stripes and really shiny.

My Syngonium wendlandii climbed high enough and matured enough to get real ear lobes lol

This time of year the cooler nights and less sun, turns some of my crotons older leaf areas are completely black, makes for a nice striking color combo.

The red/black/pink ones are rare around here; we see a lot of orange ones that look good around THanksgiving.

Love them in the fall, really add color to the garden, usually flower then too.
