For days our low was predicted to be 28 Sunday morning. Then the prediction went down to 23, now it is back up to 28, I like that a lot better.

I'll be moving about 18 pots back inside when I get home today.

Says 24 here, but the hourly only gets to 27. I'm still debating on who I want to cover. Sighing!

This is apparently an exceptionally tough prediction the next few nights. I'm seeing a wild variety of predictions. Especially tonight, the low will be somewhere between 66-36°. You can take that to the bank!

Hydrangeas are covered. Daffodils at risk in Western North Carolina. I took the photos yesterday. We have snow on the ground today and temps in the teens. Hopefully it will kill off mosquitos and chiggers!

I've been thinking about this & I think the one weather ap on my phone makes a prediction from midnight to midnight, while the more traditional outlets predict overnight? ...it was probably still 66° at midnight but has since dropped to 38°. In any case, take THAT, stupid mosquitoes! I hope they are itchy when they die.

They're saying a low of 21, but the hourly makes it look like 26. Thinking I'm not sure, but I covered everyone that I thought needed it. I ran out of frost blankets, so someone got covered with a styrofoam cooler and someone else got covered with plastic buckets. Shrug!

We regularly get nights in the 20s until the end of April. One notable year it was Memorial Day and the high was 55! Kind of accustomed to weird weather here. We had snow yesterday, and might have tornados the end of next week. Had tornados last weekend. I never put out tomato plants or take the indoor plants outside until the first week of May. Several years ago we had a hard freeze on April 17 and lost 100% of the peach crop and 75% of the strawberry crop here. So glad I don't fight mosquitos here; fire ants are bad enough!
Yeah, we have folks who commit crepe murder here. Folks don't understand they are trees, not shrubs. One person does it, then another, then everyone is doing it, even the landscaping companies.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

I put frost blankets down thinking it's help, but I got educated on the difference between frost and freezing. I do have some freeze damage on some of my plants (some outright melted), but I do think the frost blankets were better than nothing. Sighing!

Purp, did it freeze the other day where you were? Any damage? I'm all ears!

TY for asking. ; ) It was a light frost. I haven't inspected my weeds closely but I will in the next few days. Didn't have much @ risk, that I'm aware anyway, aside from the pots that I took back inside. Might have messed up the blooms on a little peach tree. u?

That's good! The neighboring city set a record of 19 degrees. 😱

My Ruellia melted, but I think it'll come back. I had a couple ferns that got damaged and some Spireas, but I also think they'll be fine. Thumbs up

Don't think I've suffered any damage, but you never know. I will have to check. Last year I covered a lot of stuff for a solid week. This year I've been more blasé about covering stuff. I did see some green in the pots Ileft the ele ears in, so I guess they're ok. I also left a crinum lily and cannas in pots. I did cover the tops of those pots.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.
