My cactus fruit finally completely ripened so I picked it and cut it open. It looked just like a mini dragon fruit. I tried it but did not taste at all good, very bland. But it was very pretty and now I have put the seeds in soil and am excited to see if they grow.

Your seeds should grow ok. Best tip is don't cover them with dirt leave them on the surface. Keep moist..
With Hookeri you will probably get more of the same plant.
Re: Epi fruit. White flesh ones taste strong like Feijoas / Guavas.
Pink flesh ones taste nice. All are edible
