Tiffany, I love the way those orchids are making themselves right at home on your indoor trees. My only indoor plant that's not an orchid is a Ficus. I don't know how I would do it and keep the orchid and Ficus both happy. I do have an orchid in a bowl sitting in the Ficus pot. I guess that will have to be good enough.

...Or you need a couple new little trees? Dracs are perfect for this I think, since the foliage canopy doesn't block much light.

I've been wetting the newly placed Phal roots a couple times a day with a squirt bottle, like I did for the Vanda until it got a couple roots down into the soil. None of the Phal roots have attached to the trunks yet but I hope they will like the Vanda did.

Lucy, maybe you need to start with one that's been scared to death @ a BBS? I think that makes 'em more grateful and appreciative. Otherwise, it's just luck. You know I have no idea what I'm doing over here. Just trying to quasi-copy pics I've seen of orchids growing on real big trees. Does an orchid know if it's gotten stuck to a micro tree? Does it care? No idea, but stay tuned...! LOL!

Dendrobium blooming again. I didn't realize it could bloom at other times (other than fall.) Cool!

During the winter some friends of my daughter gave her a dusty, unblooming orchid to give to me because they knew I like plants. Sigh. Yes, but I'm not at all equipped for indoor tropicals. I set it on the kitchen counter so I'd remember to water it until I figured out what to do with it and it became part of the background.

I have a 1 gallon glass jar with a USB LED light on my desk. I found plants with light needs of 500-1500 footcandles - my light meter says they are getting closer to 500 but apparently its enough for this little guy. there's a second bud just below the flower.

Lovely set up. I'm not equipped with indoor plants too, even orchids but I cheated and hubby got me a combo from Costco. The few times I went to Lowe's I didn't see any orchids to rescue. I think because it is spring time and there are a lot more people willing to rescue plants.

My formerly houseplants orchids are now fully established outdoors hanging under the mango tree. I can't go near them to take photos because a bird decided to make a nest on one of my "hanging begonia pots".

I'm waiting for some to finish blooming at work, before bringing Home for some 'tree time'

Tiffany, Sally, Zoe... Great orchids! Tiffancy, I don't usually care for Dendrobiums but the purple with white tips is stunning. Sally, what is it? Love the baby pink color. Zoe, anything with stripes.

I knew someone was going to ask me what my little green orchid was. Its a 3" plant with a 12" name: Bulbophyllum pectinatum var. transarisanense.
