Last weekend I picked up this little Ruby Ficus. I've never had a Ficus before but I'm at the point with houseplants that I'm willing to branch out and try something new. I did a basic internet search about care. I did read they don't like to be moved once happy in an established spot. Bright indirect light. Drier rather than constantly wet.
It is in very peaty medium which is quite compacted but still drains very very fast. I would like to repot it. For the most part all my houseplants are in a local nursery's custom blend potting soil. Very light and also fast draining. I have had great results with it (pothos, Christmas cactus, sans, parlor palm, peperomia, draceana, begonias) But again, never had a ficus.
My main reason for posting is to inquire if this soil looks like it would be ok.
Note: I realize often the advice is not to repot. And I may not right away. But I likely will because I'm just stubborn and have rarely been disappointed when I do
