Don't worry, Gigi - unfortunately Pelargonium has the common name of Geranium... utter insanity if you ask me. A similar situation exists with Hippeastrum being called Amaryllis. I really wish people wouldn't use genus names as common names!

So many of the plants have been moved, and species now in Pelargonium genus used to be in Geranium genus. This is why Catharanthus plants are still called Vinca, and why Dizygotheca/Plerandra trees are still called Aralia. Coleus has been on a merry-go-round of botanical epithets, but is always going to be called Coleus. So many other examples.
