Interesting pup showing no pink on this 'Mend'.
One of the two pups looks to have reverted back to Aechmea luddemmanniana.
Edit to add thread title luddemmanniana misspelled.

Interesting. I'm amazed at what these bromeliads do, never a dull moment, this particular one really does give an unusual inflorescence.
