Craziest thing I've ever seen. I've been following this bud, thinking it would just abort, but it seems to be coming along. How unusual is this?

Well, I haven't seen that on my peonies.
I hope it does open Crossing Fingers!

Strange but for the first time ever, I've just found a double bud in my garden. I believe it is some sort of fasciation where two stems fused but not the buds of course.
Mine are on Blushing Princess.

Would love to tell you they are opening already but with no colour showing it will be more than a week before the reveal Crossing Fingers!

Today, left side is catching up, looking at the right side bloom head on, you'd never know it was carrying a baby on it's back!

Thanks for sharing your photos. They have been quite interesting. If I ever get a double bud, I will let it bloom.

Last post! First pic is both twins. Second pic is the right side dominant bloom, now fading. Third pic is the left side at stride. I've enjoyed the journey...we will never pass this way again...
