Love the Dicentra and Lungwort! I plan on adding a few Lungwort to the shade garden. I think if someone told me they didn't like Dicentra I would really question their sanity. LOL.

Jennifer beautiful pictures. It's like your standing right there. What camera do you use?
The lungwort is so pretty this time of year. Seems there are lots of new cultivars on the market these days.

Striking mail box combination. Purple and lavenders are my favorites. Not much color here yet. The daffs were just deadheaded today. Here are a few little bulbs that have been in my garden for years.

Leucojum 'Gravetye Giant' and Tarta tulip, one of the little species. It shoots up right in the middle of a clump of Moonbeam coreopsis and the trout lily, Erythronium 'Pagoda'.

Nice pics!
Tulipa Tarda is the only real dwarf species I've got.
But this year I missed taking photos, and well a couple days later, they already shedded the blooms and only seed heads were instead :(
The good thing is they wintersow nicely for me.

Nice setting Arlene!

I mentioned begonias in my top 10. I do love them, though I'm badly begonia challenged. I have an uncanny ability to kill them. I know most people say they're also easy to propagate from cuttings, but my results have been pretty dismal in this department too.

I have to give special mention to Dragon Wing Begonia. They're sterile, produce no seeds. I suppose that accounts for it's incredible flowering all summer. It's my new favorite begonia after trying it only last year, and it might be my new favorite annual.

I love these Begonia's but I am confused. If they are sterile then how is Harris Seed selling seed? where did they get seed? http://www.harrisseeds.com/Sto...

Susan, I believe they hand pollinate plants, crossing two specific types. But the resultant plants grown from the seeds are sterile.

I grew mine from seeds last year. You can see my seedlings on the database page.
