Hullo!
As a disclaimer, I'm a total newbie in plant-care (with lots of patience!) and I had a question concerning this Alocasia Zebrina I recently received... I read that they can be quite fussy with water and super susceptible to root rot; I recently (within the last week) re-potted this plant before taking note that I may have potted it in a wayy too large pot ( Thinking )... it looks like it's doing okay so far, and I'm wary of re-re-potting it so soon and it not being very happy with me. Will it rooting in a much larger pot cause problems for me in the long-term? Any insight is appreciated Thank You!

Greetings!

Never had one, but what size was the original pot?

Ideally you want a little bigger than the root mass, but that's a healthy looking plant that I read can reach 3' easy, so I assume (guess) yours might fill out a good bit and use the new pot fine.

Depending on how much of a jump it was, I'd just make sure you don't have soggy soil on the edges where roots can't reach the moisture yet.

Shouldn't take long to fill in. Seeing small rotation every few days is recommended.

Gorgeous plant.

Thank you for taking the time to reply! It's always a big help and helps assuage a lot of my worries as a first-time plant-owner haha. Original pot was maybe around 1/3 or so smaller than this one and it was somewhat root-bound when I got it, so I'll stick with it as long as it feels healthy to me.

Good to know about soggy soil on the edges. I wouldn't have thought to keep an eye out for that....

Thank you! I tip my hat to you.
