Pretty violet.
If the flower stalk has no more buds on it, it won't develop any more flowers. For tidiness you can snap it off at the base.

Unless you shoplifted it, I don't imagine it's stolen. It isn't a stolon, either.

Stolons are a way that some plants spread at or just under the soil surface, similar to rhizomes. Stems that hold buds & blooms are inflorescences. That's a pretty bloom on your plant!

I forget, when you leaf-root African violets, do they keep their flower coloration or slip back to something else? Reading it's 50/50.

I've done leaf and division but it's been a while.

Thanks

Plant it and they will come.

Read it a few times, just haven't encountered it that I remember.

Reading up I guess it depends on if it's a hybrid or not?

"Some violet hybrids will not reproduce true. Chimeras, which have a characteristic stripe of color down the center of each petal lobe, will rarely produce offspring with the same color pattern. Chimeras have a unique genetic structure which can only be propagated through side shoots (also called suckers) or flower peduncles. Some hybrids have unstable genetic structure. Often, fantasies (violet hybrids with flowers which are speckled or streaked) or multicolor violets will produce a percentage of offspring that are not true to the parent."

I recall with Sanseveria it depends on if the the cuttings are right-side up or upside-down.

Makes no sense to me but very cool!

I figure they know something we don't.

I wish I took advantage of the college days more often.

Those plants used to break open plastic pots after years of being handed from one person to another.

college days -- I had plants in the dorm... You know, when we helped our daughter move out of dorm, there were dumpsters for kids to put extra stuff. I mean like, mini fridges, microwaves, furniture, all the way down to kitchen ware. There MUST be some plants getting the evil eye on move out day? Thinking or do kids manage to keep all their plant babies, being living things and all.. Thinking could there be a way to capitalize on the chances of people not wanting to haul every plant home... Thinking
Plant it and they will come.

With Sans, it's the cultivar variegation that can't be preserved by cut leaf propagation. For example, when I do 'Whitney', I almost always get very dark green leaves that are plain. One time I got an almost albino rosette, bright yellow. but it didn't survive after being separated from the host. There are posts about it & pics around here somewhere.

I'm not sure if that relates to propagating an AV leaf.

But it stays true typically with division, correct?

Not the one in the photo but I had propagated several maybe 4-5 years ago, from leaf and best I can recall the all were the same color as the parent which a blueish color. When I moved I gave away the plants I had as it was a long move and its always fun to get new plants. Smiling
