gardenia my buds are not opening and turning brown, it is at bright room with lo in the Ask a Question forum

what is wrong with my plant. the buds are turning brown and falling off, i use a meter to check the dryness so I don't over water, and it is dry it gets lots of light but little sun.
Please help me.

Hi & welcome! It sounds like not enough sun, and maybe not enough water if the soil got too dry. Gardenias like sun, heat, and moist soil.

THANKS I JUST BOUGHT A PAD MADE OUT OF PALM LEAVES TO KEEP MOISTURE IN IT GETS A LOT OF LIGHT BUT NO DIRECT SUN. I WILL KEEP TESTING SOIL SO IT DOES NOT GET TOO DRY.

If the sun isn't shining right on it for at least an hour per day, I'm not sure it will stay healthy, and bloom. To get tons of blooms, this is in the sun most of the day, until about 3 PM.

The pad sounds interesting. I haven't heard of that before. Best luck with it! : )
