Stalk turning brown on my umbrella tree? Tree is 5' tall, leaves by brown stalk dropped with browning ends but the leaves look healthy. Wondering if it's a normal part of the stalk growing bark? Or if this is root rot or something else? There are many other stalks and all the others seem healthy as of right now.

Plant is usually inside but I brought it outside when I seen the brown stalk hoping sun would help it. Got the tree in February, I water it usually every ~10 days but last week did forget I had watered it so it got two waterings within 10 days.

Today the brown has already spread up farther up the tree. Pictures I've seen of trees making bark, it seems like they stay pretty green. Here's an updated picture

Definitely not too dry, I accidentally watered it twice last week The top of the stalk that turned brown is actually soft now and drooping.

When I noticed the soft top of that stalk I took the plant out and looked at the roots, the root ball was around pretty moist dirt (haven't watered it in about a week now) so I tried to take out the wet dirt from around the roots and put it in the pot with all fresh dirt. I think it's shocked from transplanting it now because a lot of the stalks now are softer and more droopy than before. In order to get a look at the root ball I had to spray it with water so I'm hoping that didn't add to the overwatering problem?

I'm new to plants. Any advice is greatly appreciated 😀
