Dianne, do you provide winter protection for any of the daylilies from Brown's Ferry? Also, do you get reliable snow cover?

Our average winter, we top 360 inches of snow (between late November and early April). I have grown daylilies from Tennessee, Georgia and Florida ... plant about an inch deeper than usual... and I mulch all of my gardens with wood chips. That's it. No special coddling - the mulch helps all year: keeps moisture for hot summer days, but mostly to help keep weeds down.

I have sent orders to Sun Dragon Daylilies, Arrasmith Farm, MP Flower Garden, Signature Daylilies, Petal Pusher Daylilies, twixanddud, and RobinSeeds. I have sent email inquiries to Ladybug Daylilies and Hem Haven and am waiting to hear back about availability. Am also expecting a couple more plants via trade. Total I'm expecting so far is 24. I just sent off 24 plants to friends and will send off a couple more in October, so so far I am breaking even!

The ones I just ordered from Arrasmith and Petal Pusher:

Ruffled Ruby
Irish Envy
Siloam Tee Tiny
Ashwood Dark Side
Rhapsody in Green
Tallahassee Two Step

A garden requires patient labor and attention. Plants do not grow merely to satisfy ambitions or to fulfill good intentions. They thrive because someone expended effort on them.

DeweyRooter said: I will probably order a few more from Brian Reeder. I have several of his, and they have all been as advertised: no rust and good bloomers. He has one evergreen, Kaleidoscopic Evidence, that I will order in the fall and maybe one or two others.

I also will probably order at least one more from Ron Reimer, probably Malibu Sunset as it is an orange (which I want more of) and is more affordable than most of his.

I am thinking about trying one or two of Dan Hanson's. I am leaning toward Kara Louise and Sheila Beila.

Others I am looking for are Carlotta and Little Rosy Cloud. I also would like Irish Envy if I can find out anything about its rust resistance.

If anyone knows where to find Zella Virginia, let me know. I am also looking for Genesta.

Ron's doing big things with diploids isn't he. Definitely looking at his method of cultivation closely
I am trying to figure a way to scale down his process to fit my allotment.

I'm not familiar with them, but Earthly Treasures Daylily Gardens has it listed as "limited". If you haven't checked them out, yet, you might want to try before everyone else who reads this decided it does look kinda cute.

Earthly Treasures lists it as "limited." I'd suggest emailing them to enquire.

One last daylily arrived Friday. Bluegrass Mom had Persian Ruby and I have wanted this one for some time, so decided to buy. Received a very nice plant, a triple fan plus two extra fans, great. Lots of people grow this one, hard to choose a picture from the data base, but this one shows it off nicely, I think.
