We have many critters in and around our yard. I know there is a marmot tunneling under the shed. One year she removed a whole area of tulip bulbs that were recently planted. Since then I have lost several of my most fragrant lilies although many other lilies were left untouched. What I am wondering is, If I surround the fragrant lilies with a patch of the untouched would that protect the fragrant ones?

Probably not. I'm not surprised that animals have their favorite lilies, but there are no lilies that are repellents. I would venture that if you have no more of the "favorite" lilies, the marmots will start eating the ones less enticing, but still a good dinner.
