I have a massive Nicotania alata jasmine scented and it appears to have a sucker or another branch I can't tell coming up from the base. I don't want to waste it but it's gotta go because it's the only crooked flower stalk. It's probably useless as they grow from seed so rapidly but I'd like to try rooting it. Does anyone know if it'll readily put out new roots on a cut? You think water or soil is better for propagation to keep the big stalk from rotting? You might be able to see the branch coming from the base in this pic. It's about 18 inches tall or so
