Is it safe to move a 2 ft avocado tree outdoors in Bayville, NJ? I started it from an avocado seed two years ago. It now has another tree growing alongside it but is only about 10 inches high. I live on a lagoon so there is salt in the air when winds are strong. I put the tree outside 2 days ago in a sheltered corner so the sun would not be too strong. Tonight I had to bring it in because the leaves at the top were dry & curled. Some other leaves were discolored. What would you suggest? Are they affected by bright sunlight & salt? Was it just the shock from going from a controlled temperature
( 77) to outside heat( 85) ? I'll keep it inside for now until I can get some advice.
Thank you!

Air movement adds a lot of drying power that it is not used to.
I suggest it stay indoors. Sounds like you did take precautions.
Plant it and they will come.
