Hi everyone. This is one of my gardens. A weed ditch turned into a koi pond
Thumb of 2022-07-18/Passionate4gardening/6718e5

And a pic from last year showing more of the pond.

Hawkeye, I want to thank you for posting your pic of the pots on the stand as it may have solved a problem for me. I have a very small space between the right side of the waterfall and the fence. The plants I have there now are elevated on a board going across (you cant see it unless you go close and look underneath, I had to get creative) anyway, that space underneath the board I need to keep clear in order to access the drainage outlet when needed. Didn't think of that when we built it. (We've been meaning to get a longer drainage hose but haven't. ). In the meantime, the open space on the right side near the sun shine next to the "not in bloom" daylily is driving me nuts. Your pic gave me the idea of putting a planter on a slim post. That way, the pot could be around the same height as the plants on the board blending in but yet wont be in the way when we need access. I was thinking of a tall daylily as ultimately I would like to use plants to cover the fence next to the waterfall so that the waterfall blends in with the woods behind it. The short of it is your pic gave me an idea to fix an issue in a tricky area that's been driving me nuts. I guess I could of just said that instead of this long post.

Glad to have helped, K. We had a koi pond once, back in the olden days when I was still young enough to want to get in the water to tend it. It had to be deep enough to keep the racoons from overfishing it. Lost lots of fish to herons as well, so we switched to less expensive goldfish. Ours wasn't nearly as pretty as yours, as our land was as flat as a pancake.

Here are three daylilies that play nice together in my pastel bed. Elegant Candy, Trahlyta, and Bonus NOID. All different colors, but it seems to work. Trahlyta gets to be the star of this show.

And definitely no pancake here.

Many small gardens, with limited space. Laura, I love the expansive view of your "jungle", so not a jungle.

Does not look as good in this picture I think as it does in person, but I like this combo of Cradle of Bethlehem with Sparkling Burgandy Eucomis behind. By this time of year the eucomis foliage is not as dark as in spring, but I still admire it when it flowers

A view from the deck, this morning.

From left to right: Wild Rodeo, NOID gold, Ruby Spider, Foxy Loxy.

Also in photo:
Rhododendron 'Pennsylvania' far left
Lacecap Hydrangea. Think it's Twist and Shout, although the flowers seem to be a little smaller than those I see at nurserys.
Rosa: 'Easy Does It'
Various Orientpet lilies.
Monarda 'Gardenview Scarlet' which does far better in my garden than other red Monarda, and remains upright, unlike 'Jacob Cline'.
Another Metasequoia, in background. This one is somewhat fastigiate. I'll never have enough Metasequoia.
