I have a rooftop container garden, and this is the second year that I am trying to grow a determinate hybrid variety called "Best Boy" from seed. None of my other tomato plants suffer from blossom end rot, but this variety cannot produce tomatoes without the bottom turning brown (and I have to pick them off while still golfball-sized). I water deeply every morning, have both granular and soluble fertilizer (at appropriate times), amended soil with ground egg shells, and have hardwood mulch over the soil. I honestly cannot remember if I got any tomatoes last year without blossom end rot. I am baffled why every tomato is getting blossom end rot and concerned because it is determinate--is it the variety or is it me? How much longer should I give it before tearing it up and replacing it?

It sure sounds like the variety is the problem, and not your care. Confused Shrug!
(I have one variety having a [different] problem this year while 6 other kinds are perfectly happy)
Plant it and they will come.

I'm growing best boy for the first time in years, and yes, the first fruit had BER, which I've never experienced. I just cut the affected fruit off and threw them away. Fruits set after this are ok. Pretty sure this is an issue with this particular variety.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.
