Hello everyone,
Is it possible to make a fruit type fig tree split it's apical branch into two pairs of branches?
Does the node at the top have to be cut or removed for this to happen 🤔
Thank you for your expertise!!

Do you mean. If I cut off the end of the main stem will it branch?
Plant it and they will come.

Hi & welcome! Yes, theoretically, if the top node is removed, replacement of the leader will result, OR multiple nodes will initiate growth, but there are no guarantees. You could practice on something that grows really fast, like Coleus & Plectranthus, although the reaction of alternate foliage is a little different than opposite foliage.
The golden rule: Do to others only that which you would have done to you.
