I've heard that a mixture of water and (non-agricultural) vinegar will do the trick.Has anyone been successful with this? If so, what mixture of water and vinegar did you use?

Heard where? I seriously doubt that. Non ag vinegar straight won't kill much. Why would diluting it work?
