I burnt my plants. My cactus has WHITE leaves from being outside. I moved them outside because they weren't thriving inside. Now they're burnt.
Do I cut the white leaves off or will they recover and turn green?
I think my succulents are burnt too. Same reasoning as above, giving them fresh air and sunlight. Do I clip the burnt/red leaves or will they recover?

Thank you in advance for your help. I need all I can get.

PlantlessinIL, Welcome to the forum. Yes you can cut off what was burnt. When setting them outside you need shade for Christmas Cactus, not sun! They will grow
new shoots if you give them proper care.

Hi & welcome! Agree, they look burned. For future reference, even plants that would otherwise love to be in the sun need to be introduced to outdoor exposure gradually after being inside for a while, more than a week or so. Some plants take so long to acclimate, it's not worth the effort when they have to come inside for part of the year to avoid freezing to death.

Welcome! @PlantlessinIL
Yes Christmas Cactus loves light, but no direct midday sun. The others, it's hard to tell from the pics. Some succulents will flush in color from stress. Some succulent and cacti can handle direct sun, others partial sun. It depends on the circumstances too. Baby plants and transplants shouldn't be in direct sun, later they can transition.
For now, just give them a lot of light and don't overwater.
I always remove leaves that don't look right, but that's just me. Christmas cactus is easy to propogate, so don't sweat it. If you remove segments and stick it in the dirt, they will root if given proper care.

I guess I should have started withโ€ฆ HI! Smiling I'm so glad I found this group!!! Hurray!

My mom had the green thumbs and was a plant whisperer. I should have paid more attention when she was still with me. Now I've sort of just jumped into everything plant related to reconnect and use as therapy but it's depressing when everything I try to grow doesn't thrive. You should see my yard and tomato's D'Oh! So I'll probably become a nuisance with questions.

Againโ€ฆ Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! for the help ! Group hug

Hey we just did the same thing with Kid1s Christmas cactus. That's how we learn. I'm sorry you lost your mom, once you get going, you'll remember things - even if we thought we weren't paying attention, some things we still have way back in memory of doing. They'll come forward when you least expect it.

Welcome here! Lots of nice peeps and helpful too! Welcome!
Every gardener knows that under the cloak of winter lies a miracle ... a seed waiting to sprout, a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to unfurl. And the anticipation nurtures our dream."
