Dear experts,
We have a mixed photinia and laurel hedge 9 years old)
Over the years much of the photinia has died off (initially leaves dropped, then whole beaches go brown and dry).
Now the laurel is yellowing and loosing leaves. We have watered and fed it but it does not seem to be recovering. In fact more and more of the hedge seems to be affected. We are desperately trying to safer the Laurel hedge as it provides much needed screening.
Is this due to a fungal disease? Any ideas how we can help it recover?
Anna

I had to search google to figure out what you had.
Photina definitely has a virus, and... anything billed as an "instant hedge" is unlikely to last forever.

Suggest looking at this as an opportunity.

Consider shrubs that are bird friendly... Or even produce fruit people can eat!

There's no need to stay stuck of shrubbery that require constant effort to keep at a manageable size and give nothing back.
