Very nice! So are both the green and red buds blooms?
Here is a photo of my baby cactus that you gave me, I thought I lost them, since I've never grown cacti before and wasn't sure what to do for them...anyway, they seem to like the chicken wire thingy that I set up for them to stay upright!

WOW you have a lot of buds.

Do you know what color the blooms will be?

I have three color blooms red, yellow and a peach. I love the big blooms they look like peony.

Cinta, I'm assuming you're asking Mark about bloom color...he gave me the chunks of cacti, which is why I shared the photo - I know mine aren't really looking great - I was amazed that they were alive!!! nodding I will surely post photos of the blooms if these are indeed blooms, and like the little jumpy yellow emoticon - I'll be jumping up and down with joy when I first notice the open blooms Hilarious!

no this climate is not good to flowers of cactus. However if i ever stopped hacking my cactus up they might flower. I have had one flower once in the 4 years i have been growing them.

Alright, well then, I'm guessing these buds are little babies growing!! That's exciting! I plan on leaving them all summer, unless they get too large, then I'm going to separate into the different types, I think I have 3. And continue growing them! Its quite exciting starting from so little! I tip my hat to you.

Yes I was asking Mark if he knew bloom colors. I have a hardy cactus succulent garden and I am trying to get different color blooms in the area. It is a conversation garden that cactus can live under a foot of snow. Rolling on the floor laughing

If they are hardy and grown outside all year I have seen blooms in second year. They only last a day but when you get a big patch it is the same as a daylily you have so many buds that you have blooms daily for a few weeks.

The blooms are large the size of a daylily bloom on these two.

I really do need to post some of the pics I've been taking at the Desert Botanical Garden - is there a way to download pics from an iPhone or can you only email them to yourself?

they claim that in ios 6 and up you can upload media to html. Have you tried clicking on the upload an image button from your phone?

also http://support.apple.com/kb/HT... has several methods to transfer media.

also i use dropbox on my android phone, it automatically syncs my photos between my phone and pc when on wifi.
it is also on iphones https://www.dropbox.com/iphone...
