Looking for advice on how to keep the lawn green and luscious in a 10x12 small area in my backyard in Palm Springs, CA. I have sprinklers with timers that I can set. It is really sandy and we have some yellow patches.

When is the best time of the day to water and for how long, and when should we cut (once or twice a week)? Thank you in advance for your help!

Welcome to the site!

A lot will depend on the watering restriction in your area, normally it is better to water in the early morning 4-6 am, typically I try to mow my lawn when it is cooler, for myself and the health of the grass.

Thank you, crawgarden! What do you all think of products like Azos and Bio-Ag to strengthen the roots of the grass? Anyone with experience in the Palm Springs desert-like conditions?

Not familiar with those products, hopefully someone that is familiar with the high desert soils can assist.
