Currently $1.99 for Kindle -- no idea how long that deal will last. If you don't have a Kindle, you can download a free app from Amazon for PC or smart phone.

I'm going to retire and live off of my savings. Not sure what I'll do that second week.

I think I will and will watch for more gardening books for Kindle, especially one on propagating.

I've been looking for old, old textbooks about soil structure, soil improvement, soil science, drainage - anything about soil. I figured that anything modern would be far too expensive and maybe to technical or not practical enough.

Indeed, modern texts I see on Amazon tend to run $50-$150 even used. I don't see very many old soil science books, and even popular books tend to run $20 and up.

Bummer!

Scroll thru this website for old books. www.abebooks.com/

I picked up Gertrude Jekyll's, The Gardener's Essential, for $2. It was a discarded library book from Chesapeake, VA.
