Actually, this isn't a question but a comment---if critters are eating your tuips, plant them deep--Here in zone 7 in Virginia, I plant mine 10" deep--this way squirrels don't get to them--and it serves to keep tulip bulbs a bit cooler over the summer (which tulips like--they hate heat). At 6", I plant daffodils--this is known as "lasagna gardening"--planting in layers. While they're blooming, the bright daffs mixed with the tulips make a gorgeous display--and deer and rabbits walking by tend to avoid them because they smell daffs.
